Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serkan Doğan

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serkan Doğan completed his medical education at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 2006. He then finalized his Urology residency in 2014 at Turkey High Specialization Training and Research Hospital. For his specialization thesis, he focused on “The Relationship Between CD47 Expression Level and Prostate Cancer Stage,” a subject addressed for the first time in the literature.

Throughout his training and subsequent practice, he gained significant expertise in advanced interventional methods, including laparoscopic surgeries, kidney transplantation, and laser prostate treatments. He successfully performed the HoLEP (Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate) surgery, the first of its kind in a state-affiliated hospital in Turkey, and this pioneering experience was subsequently shared in an international publication.

He served as a specialist physician at the same institution until 2018. Following this, he relocated to Istanbul to continue intensive surgical practice and scientific work at the Urology Clinic of Sancaktepe Training and Research Hospital. Between 2021 and 2022, he pursued advanced training in urologic oncology at Yale University (USA), concentrating specifically on current approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of prostate and bladder cancers.

After returning to Turkey, he obtained the Associate Professorship title. Since August 2022, he has been practicing as a Urologist at Acıbadem Ataşehir Hospital.
